We are seeking Occupational Therapists to join experienced multidisciplinary therapy teams supporting children, young people and adults living with cerebral palsy, neurological conditions, developmental disabilities and other complex disabilities.
You will work alongside experienced Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists and other allied-health professionals to provide evidence-based, person-centred therapy.
The Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will support clients to achieve meaningful goals and maximise their independence, participation and quality of life.
Depending on your experience and area of practice, your responsibilities may include:
- Completing comprehensive occupational therapy assessments
- Developing individualised therapy and intervention programs
- Supporting functional independence and participation
- Working on activities of daily living and functional skills
- Assessing and supporting equipment and assistive technology needs
- Providing recommendations for environmental modifications
- Supporting positioning and postural management
- Working with clients with complex physical and developmental disabilities
- Supporting early intervention and paediatric clients
- Working with school-aged children, adolescents and adults
- Providing education and practical strategies to families and carers
- Working collaboratively with schools, support workers and other professionals
- Preparing clinical reports and maintaining accurate clinical records
- Monitoring outcomes and modifying interventions as required
- Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical case discussions
Your Caseload
Depending on the service location, you may work with clients across the lifespan, including infants, children, teenagers and adults.
Clients may present with:
- Cerebral palsy
- Neurological conditions
- Developmental disabilities
- Intellectual disability
- Genetic conditions
- Physical disabilities
- Neurodiversity
- Complex functional and equipment needs
What We Are Looking For
You will need:
- A recognised university qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Eligibility for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia/AHPRA
- Relevant clinical experience
- Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- A person-centred approach
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to evidence-based practice
- A genuine interest in disability and rehabilitation
- A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle where required for the position
Both experienced Occupational Therapists and suitable early-career clinicians are encouraged to express their interest.
